Error <code> accessing <drive>: <additional message>.
When you start File Scavenger® you may see the following message:
Disk access error

This error message means File Scavenger® cannot access the disk device because of the reason explained in the text after the colon. The string "\\.\PhysicalDrive1" is the internal name for "Disk 1". In this example, Disk 1 is being used by another program.

If the disk is irrelevant in your recovery effort, you can simply ignore the error.

Error accessing the destination folder.
Data cannot be written to the destination folder. Check for folder permissions and free space availability on the destination drive. Note that data usually cannot be recovered to a CD or DVD drive. See "Destination Folder" in Chapter 6.

Error parsing MFT extended entry inode # <n>: <error text>. Please choose the Long Search.
The file system structure on the drive is corrupt. You must use the Long Search.
