Benefits of a disk image file

A disk image file can be useful in the following cases:

• It can be used in place of the actual disk, which can be put away for safe-keeping.
• When using File Scavenger® on a partially faulty drive, the program may not be able to complete the scan due to hardware errors. However, you can use a utility such as our Disk Recoup™ to create a disk image file and scan it in place of the drive to avoid interruption.

Using a disk image file in File Scavenger

Click File, Disk Image, Load. Browse to and select a disk image file. From then on the file will appear in the Look In selection list like an ordinary drive.
