When you recover files with ambiguous volume affiliation, multiple copies are recovered with the (1), (2), etc. suffixes after the filename. Only the copy from the correct volume will be usable, provided that the data has not been overwritten. When you recover files that have been determined as not belonging to any detected volume, you will receive the error “File does not belong to any volume.” If you know which volume they belong to, click Options strong>, Recovery, Volume Affiliation and select (clicking on the second radio button) or specify (by clicking on the third radio button) the volume.Figure 7.18: Commands to choose volume affiliation. |
